Description

"Theophilus Thistle, the Thistle Sifter,
Sifted a sieve of unsifted thistles.
If Theophilus Thistle, the Thistle Sifter,
Sifted a sieve of unsifted thistles,
Where is the sieve of un-sifted thistles
Theophilus Thistle, the Thistle Sifter, sifted?"

Doesn't work quite as well with teasels.....

I was showing my mom your thistle group and she wanted to know about where it came from. She was excited to see your teasel picture and told me that they used to be used to card wool before carders were invented. Carding wool is what is done to line up the fibers for spinning. She has been a long time spinner and I remember picking teasel as a child.
