Artist's Comments

When I was a small child I was at my grandmother's house when the film "Brigadoon" was on TV. That was the day I fell in love with the incomparable Gene Kelly. I was blessed to meet him in person many years later - - it was one of the most incredible experiences of my whole life. This is a simple tribute.

is this a drawing or a mix of pics?

It is a montage of photos from film stills and head-shots done with PhotoShop Elements.

Oh my, I adore him so, so much. How on Earth did you manage to meet him? I envy you.

Hi Jade,

Sorry to be so long in replying.

I used to work in television production and was honored to meet Mr. Kelly when he was in town at a celebrity function. He was simply amazing!

Sadly, the only time you see him on anything now is when, as the other day, someone with whom he used to perform passes away, such as the incomparable Cyd Charrise. Otherwise I suppose one must watch his classic films on dvd.

He was the best.

...and it was always said of him, that he knew how to keep Christmas well, if any man alive possessed the knowledge. May that be truly said of us, and all of us! And so, as Tiny Tim observed, God Bless Us, Every One!

Hi there,

That's really something! I wish I had lived just a few decades ago, so I could have grown up in that scene and experienced it.

Do you not ever watch the TCM channel? They often show Gene Kelly films, that's how I get to see most of them. 'Brigadoon' is actually on quite often. TCM is my favourite channel. :)

House: "Morning, Jimmy! Anybody die while I was gone?"
Wilson: "Did... Did you iron your shirt?"
House: "I thought about shaving it, but I couldn't find a razor."
:iconwalnuthill:
No. He was one of a kind!
